Introducing Western.Oz....













Western.Oz is the hot, new and slightly flashy WA Music Radio Program on 89.7 Twin Cities FM. The show is hosted by Gavin Crossley and Sam Schilling and also helped out by Megan Goldspink (both those ladies will be introduced to you in coming weeks).

The People

Gavin Crossley:

Gavin is a highly experience and talented radio host. He started at 89.7 Twin Cities FM in November 2001 and has been a fixture of 89.7 Broadcast since it's birth. He also did a stint in commercial radio in 2003.

He hosted the highly popular Hip-Hop show "Beatz, Rhymz and Life" for 3 years. Then went on host the critically accliamed "Caffeine Show" for next 2 years. He has also interviewed some of the biggest artists and bands in WA Music including Bob Evans, Schvendes, Downsyde and many more..

He is keen as to start this new project.

Sam Schilling:

Sam has also had a wealth of on-air experience at rival community station Groove FM. Same hosted a show there for a year (which is no mean feat). She left Groove FM for 89.7 Twin Cities FM and was promptly snapped up by Gavin for this new project.

Sam is also currently studying her final year of Events Management. Has been acting and modelling for a solid 10 years and is a highly astute businesswoman.

Megan Goldspink:

Megan is currently studying Physics as a major and Journalism as a Minor at University. She is relatively new to radio...but expect her to be thrown in the deep end by Gav at some stage. He's just like that...

The Formula is simple: 1 WA Music Show, 1 Band or soloist, add some acoustic musical instruments and BLAZZAM!

We'll be playing a few tracks off of 89.7 Twin Cities FM WA Artist of the Week every show....simple once again.

Back in the Day:

Where we grab Wiley Ol’ Perth Music Veteran Chris Gibbs (Kingpin and Audioperv) into the studio and he tells us a story about a band from Good Ol’ Days of Perth Music.

Net Track of the Week:

We comb through the myspace's of the world in search of a hot new track....often enough we find a gem and then play it to you.

Demo of the Week:

A Band, Soloist, Producer or Hip Hop Crew sends us a Demo...and we think "Damn, these guys are good!"...then we play it.
